Ready Steady GO back to Mac

Jacqui interviewing Ian Mclagan in Whelan's

Join me today at 3pm on RTE 2XM for Ready Steady GO! Your midweek fix of 60’s Beat, Soul, Ska & Modern Sounds.  Today we salute our friend Ian McLagan from The Small Faces, The Faces and The Bump Band.  When I last spoke to ‘Mac’ he was really looking forward to reuniting with Faces band mates Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones, unfortunately he didn’t get a chance to experience The Faces reunion as he suddenly passed away last year on the 3rd of December.  My interviews with Mac can be heard on mixcloud.com/jacquicarrollofficial.

Today I will play a handful of tunes from Ian McLagan’s stunning back catalogue, ‘Sorry She’s Mine,’ ‘Cindy Incidentally,’ ‘Pure Gold’ and more.  Also on today’s playlist I have The Supremes, The Emotions, Dinah Washington, The Strypes some Mod Revival courtesy of The Purple Hearts, The Circles and our very own The Blades who are all set to perform at The Olympia Theatre this weekend, this Christmas gig has become a bit of a tradition for The Blades over the past couple of years, definitely the gig of the month for Mods young and a little bit more mature.  I will take a look at what was happening this week in the charts in 1964 and 1969 so expect a bit of The Kinks, The Upsetters and Jimmy Cliff,  All this and more crammed into a little one hour show!! You can get involved by tweeting @jacquicarroll and on facebook.com/rtereadysteadygo, see ya there!!
